  • Who developed MentorHub?

    MentorHub was founded by Dr. Jean Rhodes, director of The Center for Evidence Based Mentoring at UMass Boston. MentorHub has been developed in close collaboration with Dr. Rhodes’ product, research, and technology teams. You can read more about the team here.

  • Is MentorHub backed by evidence/research?

    Mobile apps hold the promise of delivering personalized, evidence-based care to mentees. Through seamless integration with scientifically-proven, third-party apps, MentorHub enables mentors and programs to easily track and encourage mentees’ use of scientifically-proven education, health, and wellness apps.   • What devices can I use to access MentorHub?

    You can access the MentorHub app using a smartphone or tablet. Mentees can also access MentorHub through a web browser.

  • How do I access MentorHub?

    You can install the MentorHub app on any mobile device that can download apps from the Apple App store or the Google Play Store. The mobile app is currently only available for mentors and mentees in partnering organizations that have been set up in our system. If you are a program manager, log in to access your dashboard.

  • What are Mentorhub Partner Apps and how are they used?

    MentorHub’s partner apps are the mobile applications that we suggest that mentees use to address the challenges they identify and improve holistic wellness. Research supports the myriad benefits of using apps like Superbetter, Intellicare, and Headspace on health and happiness. MentorHub enables mentors to easily track and encourage mentees’ use of these education, health, and wellness apps.

  • What is MentorHub?

    MentorHub is an app that allow mentors and mentees to connect seamlessly around the use of the best educational and mental health programs.

    It is a highly accessible, effective, and scalable way to address student well-being, performance, and persistence. Mentors take the time to listen to goals, help users make the most of apps, and provide the encouragement and accountability mentees need to achieve their goals.

  • What can MentorHub help me do?

    MentorHub is a tool to help give wellness goals definition and expand them into sustainable routines within a mentoring relationship. In creating habits around the use of our apps, evidence suggests that significant improvements to health and function can be made.

  • Can anyone use MentorHub?

    To use MentorHub, you need to be a part of a participating partner organization. MentorHub does not match mentees with mentors, instead giving existing mentoring relationships tools to enhance their health and wellness. If you’re interested in working with us, you can join our waitlist here.

  • Can anyone other than my mentor see my answers or information?

    Your privacy is important to us, only your mentor and program manager can see your answers on the Mood Ring and any of the information you have provided on Mentorhub. For information on privacy of the partner apps, please read the privacy and terms of use sections on these apps.

     

  • My child’s mentor wants them to use MentorHub, how can MentorHub help them?

    MentorHub can help your child connect and communicate with their mentor. It can also help their mentor identify and track some challenges they are dealing with, like sadness, friendship challenges, worries, academics etc. MentorHub recommends apps that are designed to be helpful with these challenges. Through using MentorHub, their mentor will be able to support your child’s use of the selected apps and help them work on these challenges by setting goals, practicing skills and holding them accountable.

  • My mentor wants me to use MentorHub, how can MentorHub help me?

    MentorHub can help you connect and communicate with your mentor. It can also help you identify and track some challenges you are dealing with, like sadness, friendship challenges, worries, academics etc. MentorHub recommends apps that are designed to be helpful with these challenges. Your mentor will help you use the apps of your choice to work on these challenges. 

  • How do I decide which partner app to use?

    Mentorhub will ask the mentee to complete the Mood Ring to regularly check in with their mood and challenges, and share that information with their mentors. After mentees complete the Mood Ring, MentorHub gives them recommendations for apps that may be helpful for their top challenges. For example, if they’re struggling with Achievement, MentorHub may suggest that they try out Khan Academy. Or, if they’re struggling with sadness, MentorHub may recommend IntelliCare. The mentor and mentee decide on an app based on this recommendation.

  • How will I communicate with my mentor/mentee?

    Mentorhub has messaging and video call features that help mentors and mentees communicate. Mentors can schedule the video call within the app and send notifications to the mentee.

  • How will I help my mentee when using the partner apps?

    As a mentor, you will provide supportive accountability for your mentee as they use their apps of choice. Remember, your job is to provide support to your mentee and hold them accountable. You will also provide supervised practice, which means you can practice the skills they’re learning from the app together in real life. To learn more, read the following sections:

  • How do I decide which partner app to use?
